Asia Watch: Bonds seen steady in 2003 | FT

Asian fixed income markets are expected to have another solid year in 2003 on the back of steady economic growth and mostly sound sovereign finances and corporate balance sheets.
The region's bonds should also find support from technical factors, such as low volumes of new supply and strong demand from Asian banks, which have high levels of deposits compared with their loans.
ING said it expected Asia's outperformance to continue into 2003 with economic growth in the region seen at a relatively buoyant 5.7 per cent and new issuance seen moderate at about 18 per cent of supply. more
